Club Sportif Sfaxien (Arabic: النادي الرياضي الصفاقسي, often referred to as CSS) is a football club from Sfax in Tunisia.
The club was created in 1928 under the name of Club Tunisien. At that time the club colours were green and red. The football team is promoted to the Tunisian division of honor in 1947. In 1950 the first supporter group is founded by Béchir Fendri. In 1962 the club is renamed to Club Sportif Sfaxien and team colours become the black and white.
The 50th anniversary of CSS, in 1978 was crowned with a Tunisian title, partly because of the role that the club's Tunisian international players of that time had: Hamadi Agrebi, Mohamed Ali Akid and Mokhtar Dhouib.
More recently, in 1998, on the November 28th, CSS won its first African title, the CAF Cup, against Senegal's ASC Jeanne d'Arc.
In CAF Champions League 2006 CSS qaulified to the final , but lost 2-1 aggregate against the champions , Al Ahly of Egypt .
