The clubs major rivals are R.S.C. Anderlecht from Brussels, and they share the Jan Breydel Stadion with Cercle Brugge K.S.V..
Club Brugge is the only Belgian club to have played the European Cup I (forerunner of the current UEFA Champions League) final so far. It lost against Liverpool F.C. in 1978.
